| After leaving Pangau longhouse we backtracked our way to Sibu, turned east and went to Bintulu, a small town with lively day and night markets, and on to Niah caves. |

| The caves were impressive but unfortunately photographing inside them was mostly beyond my means. On the left is a view from outside the caves proper, on the right a sample of the route inside. |

| On the right you can see some prehistoric paintings protected from tourists by barbed wire, and the cave's exit as seen from within. |
